Christian Nguyen
Artist Biography:
Christian Nguyen was born in Saigon, Vietnam, 1968 and soon after immigrated to New York City. He received the Masters of Fine Arts at The Graduate Program, Hunter College in 2000 and his Bachelors in Fine Arts from The Cooper Union School of Art in 1990.
Mr. Nguyen has participated in the Maria Walsh Sharpe Space Program (2004), World Views Residency Program (2000) at the World Trade Center. He has received the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant (2004) and the Emerging Artists Fellowship Grant (2004), Socrates Sculpture Park. In 2013, he received a Diploma from the European Institute of Guitar Making, La Herradura, Spain and continues to make Spanish classical guitars. He has taught in the Foundation Year at Parsons, the NewSchool of Design and Pratt University. He currently lives and works in Los Angeles, California.
