Artist Statement:

i am an abstract painter.
abstract painting is self referential
the canvas and stretcher are the paintings subject and object.
i’m interested in dismantling the painting, antidisestablishmentarianism and infinity.
my paintings are made using raw canvas and raw canvas threads. canvas has inherent natural color,
no paint or painted metaphors are applied.
some of my works are created in public parks and private lands,
while some of the my paintings are made within the “box”.
the forms of the outdoor work are mostly made by wind and gravity.
the indoor work is formed by dismantling the canvas painting one thread at a time.
i record the experience of making the outdoor work in black and white.
these records are not photographs.
all of my paintings are in a temporary state.
some no longer exists after they are made and I record them.
