Lorenza Sannai
Artist Statement:
My pictorial research constantly investigates abstract geometries and color. And my curiosity about the sense of space leads me to study its continuous becoming, to explore its measure and definition by combining colors and materials capable of creating perceptive differences. In my painting, particular attention is given to how the bristles of the brush furrow the paint so that light impresses its essence on the gaze. In the schemes that I construct, I insert three-dimensional hints that distort perspective rules, leading the viewer to reconstruct the volumes. The movement of our body around the painting reveals shapes and combinations that make the work a construction in continuous evolution. My works want to represent a feeling of limit, inside and outside, true and false, near and far, small and large, light and darkness.
