Artist Statement:

I continue to explore new formal visual strategies that emphasize dynamic interwoven curved forms that reference both the geometric and the organic, signifying for me both intersectionality and interdependence. In recent years I have incorporated the oval and circle shapes into the Rondel series. To follow this last example, I have used the circle specifically in many different configurations. The circle has a great capacity for formal invention, but more importantly it contains a metaphoric range of meaning.  The recent Kaleidoscope series, (2024-25), is probably the clearest visual metaphor for the complexity and chaos of the world today. Finally, and simply put, I am attempting to make abstraction metaphoric, standing in symbolically for our relationship with the larger world.  The work continues to explore different visual possibilities in this vein.
